For those times when you have to drill outside the dial ring! This plate will cover scope holes drilled outside the dial ring, some holes drilled for a re-locker, a bolt punch (any hand), AND a cam punch. The plate is .064 aluminum, with a brushed-grained finish and NO clear coat. Before use, clean fingerprints and spray with a clear coating or paint. Scratches can be removed with fine grit sandpaper. The plate is secured by the existing dial ring through the holes provided. The holes are oversized and oblong, so you have some adjustments in the plate position. The plate can be mounted in any of 4 positions: left, right, up, and down. When replacing the SAME mechanical lock, be aware the plate is .064 thick, so your existing dial spindle will be .064 short (about 1/16") in the drive cam. The threaded portion of a drive cam is about 3/8", so there is still 5/16" of engagement.
